Where do you find a group of women crazy about
computers with extremely well developed organisational skills, from age
twenty to the mature age, who want to get their teeth into a community
based project? Only at Redcliffe’s Cultural Web Project!
An initiative of the Department of Employment and Training and the
Redcliffe City Council, this project attracted a creative and
intelligent array of women to design and launch a website showcasing
the Cultural Venues and Community Groups on the Peninsula.
Divided into three teams the work was fun and
ideas were buzzing. There was the Template Team, comprising designers
and programmers, the Organisational Team who gathered the informative
content and last but not least, the Promotions Team who tied it all
together with a big bang at the launch event on February 9, 2005.
Of course we can’t forget the man who made it all work and was a
solid rock of knowledge and wisdom…yes it was the awesome
Lindsay Robinson who, as Project Supervisor, bravely co-ordinated these
women and was the brain behind mobilising the website and organising
the daily work regime.
Here are some of the names of the women who helped put this
site together:
Christina Ball (Promotions)
Patricia Bennett (Organisational)
Samantha Doring (Promotions)
Tanya Edwards (Design)
Linda Hill (Promotions)
Sharon Naera (Organisational)
Caroline Johnston (Design)
Anna Kenny (Programming)
Patti Oakes (Promotions)
Barbara Underdown (Design)
The team's gratitude is extended to the
Cultural Venue Managers, Council Personnel and Administrative Staff,
especially Alissa Spiers, who have provided invaluable assistance and
support throughout the project. Particular thanks to Margaret Miller
(Cultural Centre Manager) for her insight and guidance in her role as
Project Manager.
